Sunday evening looks great for last-minute outdoor plans: temps in the 80s/70s under mostly sunny skies. The sun setting won’t change much as we continue to see mostly clear skies for the remainder of tonight. Temps will also continue to cool further down as they drop into the 60s.
Monday shouldn’t see any troubles in the morning with kids and parents off to school and work. Temps will slowly climb into the 70s under sunny skies for anyone who has lunch plans scheduled. Some cloud cover will help a little in the afternoon but do expect temps to be pushing into the upper 80s.
Tuesday continues to keep our high pressure in control down to the south and west. Sunny skies during the morning commute won’t hurt much, just be mindful of the sun glares. Some extra sunshine during the afternoon and temps will be approaching near 90 to end the day so don’t forget to stay hydrated!
Wednesday is expected to bring in a cold front, but with our dome of high pressure down to the south, little in the way of rain chances unfortunately for southern WV and VA. Most of what we’ll see is some extra cloud cover, which we’ll hopefully help when it comes to the temps as they’ll try to approach near 90 again.
Thursday brings in its fair share of clouds and sunshine throughout the day. With dewpoint in the 60s throughout the day, our muggy conditions will also return. This combined with the heat could spark the chance for a few showers, but again chances look isolated to scattered across the MTN’s as temps reach into the 80s again.
Friday looks to bring in partly cloudy skies and our muggy weather will continue once again. This could again spring forth a few showers with chances staying isolated to scattered. Enough breaks in the clouds and temps will be getting into the 80s before the end of the day.
Saturday is expected to bring in a cold front, ushering in better chances for showers and storms. Scattered showers in the morning here of there will transition to the chance for scattered storms during the afternoon. Watch for a few heavy downpours and ponding on the roads as temps get into the 80s in the afternoon.
Sunday brings in the chance for a few showers here or there as our front crosses. The best chances will be across far southern WV and VA with isolated to scattered showers and storms expected. Enough breaks in the clouds and temps will get back into the 80s.
In your extended forecast, trends are pointing to a fairly dry start the following Monday with temps in the low to middle 80s. As we bring in a little more humidity, the chance for showers will again be around the following midweek but again isolated to scattered at best with temps staying in the 80s.
