Pharrell Williams ‘ auction platform Joopiter is linking up with K-pop icon G-Dragon on a new auction titled “Nothing but a ‘G’ Thang: The Art & Archive of G-Dragon .”

Fifty-one lots from G-Dragon’s personal collection, including contemporary art pieces, design objects and memorabilia, will be available to fans and bidders online from Sept. 2 to Sept. 10. Notable pieces from the collection include a hand-painted Peaceminusone jacket, a pair of Off-White x Nike Air Jordan 1s customized by G-Dragon and a Chanel belt.
Joopiter said the online auction is a way to celebrate G-Dragon’s legacy as a cultural trailblazer and his “immeasurable impact on the worlds of fashion, music and art,” the auction house said in a statement.
“I am humbled to call G-Dragon a friend,” Williams said. “We are excited to bring the world together to celebrate the many facets of his incredible talent,” he added.
For G-Dragon, picking out pieces from the project was a way to look back “in order to move forward,” he said.
“Joopiter is the perfect partner to help tell my story and reveal pieces that have inspired me along the way,” G-Dragon added.

“G-Dragon’s illustrious career has created exceptional objects across many mediums, many of which have never been seen by the public before,” said John Auerbach, chief executive officer of Joopiter.
The auction, which will coincide with Frieze Seoul from Sept. 4 to Sept. 7, will be activated on the ground with a series of events, including the Sept. 2 launch party at Paradise City, a luxury resort complex in Incheon, and a public exhibition.
From Sept. 5 to Sept. 7, the G-Dragon collection will be displayed at Daelim Museum, an established private art museum near the historic Gyeongbokgung Palace .
Recent auctions organized by Joopiter include “Jackson Wang Metamorphosis: Athlete — Musician — Designer” and “From Me to You,” a sale featuring items from Nigo’s personal archive.
G-Dragon, whose real name is Kwon Ji-Yong, is a former member of the popular boy band Bigbang. The multihyphenate is also the cofounder of Peaceminusone, a South Korean streetwear brand.
