Dunning to Outfit LPGA Players in the Solheim Cup Tournament

Dunning Golf is continuing to show its support for women’s golf by outfitting the U.S. Solheim Cup Team for the second time.

Dunning, which was created by Ralph Dunning in 2001 as a men’s performance golf brand, branched out into women’s golfwear in 2022.

The company signed a deal to be the official uniform supplier of the U.S. Solheim Cup Team for the 2023 and 2024 events. The Solheim Cup is held every two years and matches the best American players from the Ladies Professional Golf Association Tour and the best European players from the Ladies European Tour.

The reason this edition takes place a year after the 2023 edition is because organizers wanted to get on an even-numbered-year schedule so it doesn’t overlap with the men’s Ryder Cup , which has a similar format.

Over the last two years, Dunning designers worked closely with U.S. Team captain Stacy Lewis and assistant captain Morgan Pressel to design the uniforms that will be worn by U.S. players. The 2024 Solheim Cup will be held at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Va., just outside of Washington, D.C., from Friday to Sunday.

This year’s uniforms include details honoring different branches of the U.S. Armed Forces: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard and Space Force.

“Wearing the red, white and blue at the Solheim Cup is undoubtedly one of the most special moments of any American’s career,” Lewis said. “As we looked to this year’s competition, being played so close to Washington, D.C., the team at Dunning has been incredibly collaborative in bringing our patriotic vision to life.”

Michael Setola, chief executive officer of Dunning Golf, added: “This has been a season of coming together for sport, first for the Olympic Games and now for the Solheim Cup, and it reminds us how special and honorable it is to play for your country. We are happy to play our part in providing the U.S. Team with performance apparel that allows them to perform in the highest levels of the women’s game.”

    S. Mike Elliott, president of Dunning, said that in addition to honoring the Armed Forces, each of the uniforms the players will wear during the tournament, which will kick off with opening ceremonies on Thursday, “are designed using only the best performance and comfortable fabrics to help the U.S. Team bring home the Cup.”

Among the players that have qualified to play this year are Nelly Korda, Lilia Vu, Lauren Coughlin, Megan Khang, Andrea Lee, Allisen Corpuz, Rose Zhang, Ally Ewing and Alison Lee. The captains’ picks were Jennifer Kupcho, Sarah Schmelzel and Lexi Thompson. Thompson, who has played in seven Solheim Cup tournaments, has said she will retire at the end of the year.

Ralph Dunning sold his brand to Tharanco Lifestyle, a brand management and operating company, in 2011. Tharanco also owns the Greg Norman Collection label.
