Carrie Underwood stepped into her new role as the third judge on the forthcoming season of “American Idol” during a photo call for the series on Wednesday. The country singer joined fellow judges Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie and longtime “American Idol” host Ryan Seacrest for the photo shoot in New York City. Underwood replaces Katy Perry as a judge for the series.
For her attire, the eight-time Grammy Award-winning artist opted for a vibrant blue power suit with whimsical elements. The streamlined look featured a single-breasted blazer jacket with fringe on the pockets near the waist.

Under the jacket with a hook-and-eye closure, Underwood wore a light blue silk blouse. The suit’s trousers had a formfitting silhouette with tulle detailing at the hemline.
As for her glam, Underwood’s long blond tresses were styled with her signature soft waves. The singer accessorized with a few pieces of silver jewelry, including a few rings. Her makeup featured a bold smoky eye and dewy look with a soft, neutral lip.
