LONDON — Sarabande Foundation beat the Frieze London crowds anticipated next week with an intimate cocktail reception and dinner with Dom Pérignon at the Winter Garden of The Roof Gardens in Kensington.

The charitable foundation founded by the late Lee Alexander McQueen to nurture creative talent across a variety of creative fields had a star studded turnout with Eddie and Hannah Redmayne, Sandy Powell, Markus Anderson, Giles Deacon , Aaron Esh, Michael Stewart of Standing Ground and more in attendance.

The evening was to spotlight the third collaboration between Sarabande Foundation and Dom Pérignon titled “A Night of Creative Assemblage.”

The foundation’s three artists: Electric Adam, Almudena Romero and fashion designer Paolo Carzana were tasked with creating their own art for the evening.

Romero paid tribute to her grandparents’ occupation, organic farming, with photographs on grass; Adam merged sculpture and performance displayed using latex, and Carzana created the tablescape for the night using hand-dyed cloth and monogrammed antique napkins for the guests.

No glass was without Dom Pérignon Champagne, and on colorful plinths made by Sarabande artist Electric Mike, the brand showcased their special edition of Vintage 2015 in tribute to Jean-Michel Basquiat.

The subject of art was on the mind for most guests, but contemporary British artist Michaela Yearwood-Dan was gearing up for the influx of art shows and parties hitting the city soon.

“After Frieze London , I start a two-month residency with Hauser & Wirth Somerset, where I will enjoy the calm and quiet,” she said.

The Design Museum’s deputy director Josephine Chanter will not be having a quiet fall, as her museum prepares for the opening of “The World of Tim Burton” on Oct. 25 to April 21.

The exhibition will display more than 600 of the director’s work, from drawings, costumes to photographs.

Over the pond, Sandy Powell will be the subject of her own exhibition at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta.

“Sandy Powell’s Dressing the Part: Costume Design for Film” opens on Oct. 11 and runs until March 16. The showcase will trace her 40-year career and include more than 70 costumes from films such as “Shakespeare in Love,” “The Wolf of Wall Street” and “How to Talk to Girls at Parties.”
