Naomi Watts Coordinates With Son Sasha Schreiber in Structured Schiaparelli Dress at ‘The Friend’ Premiere During the New York Film Festival

Naomi Watts turned the red carpet New York Film Festival premiere of her film “The Friend” into a family affair with a very special guest. The Oscar-nominated actress was joined by her son, Sasha Schreiber, for the debut of the film on Thursday.

For the premiere, Watts chose a Schiaparelli design. The strapless black midi dress featured a high-waisted, billowing skirt with pockets, crafted from glossy fabric that reflected the lights of the cameras as they flashed.

The bodice featured a straight neckline and sheer fabric with exposed boning, adding a contrasting element to the ensemble. Complementing her statement-making black dress, Watts accessorized with bold, glittering earrings.

Watts’ blond hair was styled in a straight bob that nearly grazed her shoulders by Marki Shkreli. Her makeup featured a dewy, natural look with a soft pink lip by artist Mary Wiles. The “ Feud: Capote vs. The Swans ” actress’ look was curated by stylist Jeanann Williams, assisted by Ashley Afriyie. Williams has also worked with Meg Ryan and Leslie Bibb, among others.

While posing for photos on the red carpet , Watts was joined by her son Sasha Schreiber, whom she shares with former partner Liev Schreiber. The 17-year-old opted for monochrome suit styling, wearing all-black attire that complemented his mother’s dress.

Along with Schiaparelli , Watts has been dressed in designs by fashion houses such as Balenciaga. The actress wore custom looks from the Spanish luxury fashion house for the 2024 Emmy Awards last September and the 2024 Met Gala last May.

New York Film Festival 2024 began Sept. 27 and concludes on Oct. 14. Films making their NYFF debut include “Maria,” starring Angelina Jolie, “Blitz,” directed by Steve McQueen and starring Saoirse Ronan and “Emilia Pérez,” starring Selena Gomez, Zoë Saldaña and Karla Sofía Gascón. The first New York Film Festival was held in 1962.
