Continuing on its growth track, Kirna Zabête has opened a boutique in Miami’s Design District at 110 Northeast 40th Street.

The company is marking its 25th anniversary since the original SoHo store opened on Sept. 9, 1999. Today the retailer has seven locations, including Miami; Mercer Street in New York; Madison Avenue; East Hampton, N.Y.; Bryn Mawr, Pa.; Palm Beach, and Nashville.

Spanning 3,000 square feet over two levels, the Miami boutique features a pink marble floor and staircase, blending with antique brass fixtures. In a nod to the brand’s history, the space also incorporates black-and-white chandeliers, repurposed from the Broome Street store in SoHo. Red lacquer chandeliers, consistent with those seen in the Madison Avenue, SoHo and Nashville locations, ties the aesthetic together across Kirna Zabête ‘s various boutiques.

“I first toured the Miami Design District way back in 2008, with its founder, Craig Robins. I was so impressed with his vision. I’ve been patiently watching and visiting ever since, just waiting for the perfect time and perfect space. Finally, after seeing the population growth in Florida and knowing the success we’ve had in our Palm Beach location, I knew the time was right to open an additional Florida store. And of course, there’s only one place I wanted to be,” said Beth Buccini, founder of Kirna Zabête.

“Given our huge success in Palm Beach and the massive population growth in Florida, we are expecting this to be one of our top doors,” said Buccini, who declined to reveal specific sales projections.

Buccini said they divided up the store with designer clothing, shoes, accessories and home on the first level, and jewelry, evening and entry designer clothes on the second floor.

She anticipates the multibranded offering in her store will be a key advantage. “There is not a lot of multibrand retail in the Design District, and we are carrying lots of the designers that this client has been requesting. We have a strong selection from all the Kirna Zabête favorites like Carolina Herrera, Dries Van Noten, Missoni, Sacai, Libertine, Gabriela Hearst, Elder Statesman, Rosie Assoulin, Adam Lippes, Johanna Ortiz, La Double J, Silvia Tcherassi, Rabanne, TWP and many more,” said Buccini.

While she is constantly approached about opening other locations and does have a few places on her radar, there are no new stores on the immediate horizon. “We’ve had such tremendous growth in the past 20 months, however, as we have opened four new stores. We are going to catch our breath for a minute until we feel ready to move into the next phase of expansion,” she said.

Describing whom she anticipates will be the Miami customer, she said, “We can see from our other locations and online who this woman in Miami is. For sure, there is a tourist element, but in general she is a local woman who loves fashion and wears real clothes and that is the hallmark of what Kirna Zabête is.”

She added that Miami is more like SoHo in its downtown flair, “But there is obviously a huge Latin element. We’ve had a major call out for evening and jewelry, and also just everyday life in a chic, elevated way,” he said.

Turning to how the year is shaping up, Buccini said Kirna Zabête is having its “best year ever” because of all the new doors and e-commerce growth. “Third quarter was softer than expected, but we are anticipating a strong end of the year,” she said.

E-commerce has consistently grown over last year, and she said their client is very omnichannel. “We’ve also switched back-of-house systems in order to allow us to further grow, and we’ve been able to add on some amazing AI technology,” said Buccini.
