There are few events that can bring Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, Boston Celtics player Jaylen Brown, “Baby Reindeer” star Richard Gadd and a Sabrina Carpenter concert together in one room. But that’s the beauty of the Time 100 lists, which celebrate leaders across industries. On Wednesday night, Time toasted its 2024 Time 100 Next class, which highlights the here-and-now personalities defining current culture, with a dinner held at Chelsea Piers.

Guests included current honorees and list alums including Kaia Gerber, Adria Arjona, Kingsley Ben-Adir , country star Shaboozey, jazz musician Laufey, Christian Siriano, Victoria Monét, Kat Graham, Brandon Blackwood and “Chicken Shop Date” star Amelia Dimoldenberg.
Laufey, who recently attended the Chanel show in Paris, was dressed in a pink lace jumpsuit from the brand’s spring Haute Couture collection.
“I’ve been wearing all pink this year, so it’s a very fun way to continue that,” the musician said. “It’s like the most beautiful version of a Pierrot kind of outfit. So it’s like a fancy clown, if you will.” Laufey performed her final concert of the year a few weeks ago, and after Wednesday’s event was headed upstate to work on new music. “I want to go and sit with a quill by a window sill and watch the rain fall and overthink,” she said.
During cocktail hour, Ashley Park and her mother posed for photos with Renee Rapp, with the two actresses trading outfit compliments, while Gadd chatted Coughlan and “Martyr!” author Kaveh Akbar nearby.

Throughout dinner, several honorees stepped up to the microphones set up around the room to give a short speech and offer a collective toast. “Bridgerton” star Nicola Coughlan toasted to Ireland’s first female president Mary Robinson; Anna Sawai, the first Japanese actress to win an Emmy, toasted to “no limits, and Maryland Gov. Wes Moore toasted to his grandfather.
“I’d like to cheers, for everyone to raise a glass,” said Brown, offering the final toast of the evening. “One to my grandmother, two to teamwork, three to winning the championship — and lastly, to building bridges for the next generation.”
Next, the crowd didn’t need a prompt to cheers to Sabrina Carpenter as she took the stage to perform a two-song acoustic set of hits “Please Please Please” and — in lieu of an actual after-dinner coffee course — “Espresso.”
