On Wednesday evening, Roger Vivier celebrated the opening of its uptown boutique with a store cocktail, followed by an intimate dinner at New York’s current “It” restaurant, Le Veau d’Or.

The night was attended by Sarah Paulson , AnnaSophia Robb , Pat Cleveland, Ines de La Fressange, Ella Hunt, Ivy Getty, Sergio Hudson and Vivier’s Gherardo Felloni, who mingled in the restaurant’s upstairs cocktail area post store party and pre dinner.

“I feel so honored to be connected with a legacy brand like this, and we were talking earlier, Gherardo and I, about how Roger Vivier used to make shoes for Marlene Dietrich. The story of the brand is one that represents strength, powerful women, strength in women, and women that are sometimes older than the average in terms of people represented by brands,” Paulson said. “The stuff is so classic, so chic always.”

Paulson had opted for a pair of the brand’s gray low block heels — and as a testament to their comfort, “I’m a person who always brings a second pair of shoes in the car. I did not do that today,” she said.

A New York native, now a California resident, Paulson said she missed the opportunity to wear layers in the fall.

“When I’m in L.A. sometimes this time of year ends up feeling a little bit more disappointing,” she said. “So you’ll just find me in L.A. wearing all the things I’d be wearing in October in New York.”

Fall fashion-wise, she’s all about knits and cashmere and isn’t trend-driven in her style.

“You know what it is, and this is the truth: I don’t pay attention to them. I don’t pay attention to any of them,” she said. “What I personally love for fall is putting on any kind of cashmere and wrapping myself in the biggest, widest scarf I possibly could and wrapping it around my body as many times as possible and just like to walk around in a wall of cashmere.”

After bites of puffed chips with caviar and steak tartare — and more Champagne, of course, it was time to head downstairs for the final stop of the evening — dinner!
