From singers to survivors to seasoned executives, the BeautyCares DreamBall on Thursday put talents of all kind on display.

The fete awarded E.l.f. Beauty chief executive officer Tarang Amin with its Disruptor award, and JCPenney’s executive vice president and general merchandising manager Michelle Wlazlo with its Retail Champion Award — the latter of which also announced a new partnership with Look Good Feel Better.

JCPenney salons’ professionals will be certified as Look Good Feel Better workshop facilitators, a move that Wlazlo said “brings us together to celebrate the work that we’ve done and what we’re going to do.”

Amin, too, harked to the past when talking about the significance of the award. “The theme of disruption is so close to who we are. Twenty years ago, E.l.f. was created selling products at a $1 price point,” he said during his acceptance remarks. As reported , the company notched its 22nd consecutive quarter of growth in August.

Further on in the event, Look Good Feel Better honored cancer survivor Kate Zickel as its Survivor Advocate, and in between held performances by singer Loren Allred and theatre actress Hayley Podschun in addition to the rest of the Broadway cast of “Wicked .” The event’s auction, which runs until Thursday, has already raised north of $1 million.
