Naomi Scott Goes Strapless in Black Jason Wu Midi Dress for ‘Smile 2’ Los Angeles Premiere

Naomi Scott opted for minimalist styling on Monday at the premiere of “Smile 2” in Los Angeles. The actress sported a strapless tea-length dress featuring crinkled fabric and a flared skirt from Jason Wu’s spring 2025 collection.

Scott accessorized with matching open-toe heels, wearing her brunette tresses in a cropped hairdo. Her makeup, meanwhile, consisted of brown eye shadow and lip liner.

The “Aladdin” star currently works with stylist Karla Welch, who also dresses celebrities like Gal Gadot and Sarah Paulson.

The sequel to the 2022 horror film “Smile” sees Scott in the role of fictional pop star Skye Riley, who is haunted by several dark events leading up to a world tour. Parker Finn, director of the first “Smile,” returns to helm the sequel, which costars Lukas Gage, Rosemarie DeWitt and Drew Barrymore.

Jason Wu ’s latest collection debuted at New York Fashion Week in September. Per WWD’s women’s fashion market editor Emily Mercer, the designer took inspiration from Taiwanese artist Tong Yang-Tze (Ms. Tong).

“The theme of the collection is ‘Ink,’ and that is a tribute to her life’s work, and at the age of 82, I get to be a part of her legacy, which I hope to help amplify through the medium of fashion,” said Wu, who learned calligraphy in elementary school.

Wu was introduced to Tong through his friend, Lesley Ma, curator of contemporary art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Tong’s large-scale calligraphic arts were selected by the museum for its 2024 Great Hall Commission, which will be unveiled in November, marking her first major display in the U.S.
