WARREN (WWJ) — The search is on for a group of suspects who broke into the Warren Stamping Plant and stole brand new Jeeps.

WWJ’s Charlie Langton reports it happened around 3 a.m. Monday at the plant near 8 Mile and Mound Roads.

Warren police officials believe a group of about 10 juvenile suspects used another car to smash through the fence at the plant and stole around 10 Jeep Wagoneers, Langton reported from the scene early Monday morning .

Police have recovered two of the stolen Wagoneers. Langton reported one may have been recovered at a nearby Tim Horton’s and another may have been found in Detroit. It was not immediately clear if any suspects were taken into custody.

This is not the first time thieves have stolen cars from the Warren Stamping Plant, and police across Metro Detroit have been investigating other break-ins at car dealerships across the area in recent weeks.

Police have not released any other details about the theft and have not provided any suspect descriptions.

and people wonder why people and business were out of Detroit for so long. I think it's sad that people in general steal. I think it's especially sad that youth are stealing. just shows they live in an environment that says it's "ok" to do this.
