    Police searching for armed suspect who stole jewelry, wallet and more in liquor store parking lot robbery

    DETROIT (WWJ) -- Police are looking for a suspect who robbed a man at gunpoint outside an east side Detroit liquor store.

    At around 11:15 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, Detroit Police say an armed man approached the 29-year-old victim in the parking lot of Liquor Island Market, in the 17300 block of E. Warren Ave.

    The gunman announced a robbery and took the victim’s jewelry, as well as his wallet, containing money, his ID, credit cards, and other miscellaneous sundries.

    The suspect fled in a newer-model red Chevy Equinox equipped with a moon roof and luggage rails. The victim was not injured.

    Police were still looking for the suspect as of Thursday, and released photos of the suspect vehicle.

    Anyone who has any information about this case is asked to call the DPD's 5th Precinct at 313-596-5540, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-Speak Up (1-800-773-2587). There's also a $500 reward being offered for information that leads to an arrest in this case (case #2408280362) through DetroitRewards.tv .
