    Delta and Endeavor flights collide on tarmac at Atlanta airport

    Federal officials are investigating an incident that took place at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in Georgia on Tuesday when a Delta plane collided with an Endeavor airplane.

    Delta Air Lines Flight 295 was taxiing for departure to Tokyo, Japan, shortly after 10 a.m. on Friday when its wingtip struck the tail of Endeavor Air Flight 5526, the Federal Aviation Administration shared. Endeavor Air is a subsidiary of Delta Air Lines.

    The Delta flight was an Airbus A350 aircraft holding 221 passengers, and the Endeavor flight was a Bombardier CRJ900 aircraft with 56 people on board bound for Louisiana.

    Delta shared that the planes were on alternate taxiways when they collided, NBC News reported.

    A spokesperson for the airport shared with CBS News that there were no injuries as a result of the incident.

    Passengers from one of the aircraft had to be bussed to the terminal from the collision, while the other plane was able to be taxied back under its own power, the spokesperson said.

    It was not made clear what plane was which.

    Delta Air Lines said the passengers would be accommodated on “alternate flights.”

    The FAA says it will investigate the incident, it shared with Retuers .
