DEARBORN (WWJ) Four men were arraigned in connection to the fatal shooting of a woman and the dumping of her body in Detroit.

In a statement on Facebook; Dearborn Police said their officers responded to Argyle Street, in the area of Ford and Schaefer, on September 8th around 3:40 a.m. for a report of an attempted auto theft with shots fired. Initial investigation showed Mohammed Ahmad and Ali Ahmad, both of Dearborn, fired “numerous shots” at a vehicle driven by a man whom they believed to be stealing from their property, according to police.

Police learned the driver of the suspect vehicle, Shahid Muhammad, was injured by a non-life-threatening gunshot wound during the gunfire. An “uninvolved passenger”— Paige Knox— was killed in crossfire. A third passenger, Ebony Pugh, was not hurt, investigators said.

Police said Muhammad; with the help of Pugh; entered an alley on Grand River at Robson, near Greenfield, to dispose of Knox’s body. Officers discovered the “burned remnants” of the suspect's vehicle about two and a half miles away— on Ellsworth near Fenkell.

On Thursday (9/19); police arrested Ahmad, Ahmad, Muhammad and Pugh in connection with the case. All four men were arraigned on Saturday (9/21) in 19th District Court in Wayne County.

Shahid Muhammad and Ebony Pugh were both charged with Concealing a Death, Third Degree Arson and Attempted Unlawful Driving Away An Automobile (UDAA).

Mohammed Ahmad and Ali Ahmad were charged with Second Degree Murder, Manslaughter and Felony Firearm.

Shahid Muhammad and Ebony Pugh were given a bond of $250,000 cash. Mohammed Ahmad and Ali Ahmad were remanded without bond.

The men are due back in court on October 2nd.

“This is a terrible tragedy for all involved,” Dearborn Police Issa Shahin said. “While gun ownership is a protected right it comes with great responsibility. I extend my sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.”
