Woman working as security guard is shot and killed outside Taylor business, suspect in custody

TAYLOR (WWJ) -- Taylor Police say a suspect is in custody in connection with the shooting death of a woman outside a local business Wednesday night.

At around 11:40 p.m. on Oct. 9, officers responded to a call about a shooting in the parking lot of a business in the 21000 block of Trolley Industrial Drive, near I-94.

On the scene, officers found a woman dead, with a gunshot wound.

Police said the victim had been working as a private security officer at the business at the time of her death.

Police said a man has been arrested in connection with the shooting, although they did not say what led up to the gunfire, or how the suspect was identified.

The Taylor PD said in a Thursday news released that the case is being "actively investigated."

The woman's name was not released.
