DETROIT (WWJ) — The search is on for a man caught on security camera firebombing a house on Detroit’s northwest side this summer.

Officials on Thursday said a joint task force between the Detroit Police and Fire Departments is asking for help tracking down the suspect.

The incident happened on Friday, June 7 on Appleton Street, near 7 Mile and Telegraph Roads.

Police officials said multiple suspects opened fire on the house. Then a suspect wearing a yellow shirt threw a Molotov cocktail into the home, causing severe damage to the property.

Officials said no one was home at the time and no injuries were reported.

Authorities have not released a possible motive in the case.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or knows something about the firebombing is asked to call the Detroit Fire Investigation Division tip line at 313-628-2900, submit an anonymous tip on the DetroitRewards.tv website , or email at Arsontips@detroitmi.gov.
