WATERFORD TWP (WWJ) A three-year-old girl is recovering after an off-road-vehicle crash that killed two women in Waterford Township.

In a press release, Waterford Township Police said they responded to a single vehicle crash on Jones Road near Hatchery on Friday (10/18) around 5 p.m.

Police told WWJ their investigation revealed a 2019 Polaris-RZR off-road-vehicle was traveling “at a high rate of speed” when it veered off the road and crashed into a tree. The passengers—a 31-year-old woman and the toddler— were ejected from the vehicle. The driver— a 42-year-old woman—became trapped inside.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The adult passenger passed away from her injuries at McLaren-Oakland Hospital a short time later.

Their names have not been released. It’s unclear how they were related to each other and the toddler.

The little girl is expected to make a full recovery.
