The LSU Tigers landed a commitment on Friday from an in-state receiver. Speedy wide out Phillip Wright III gave his verbal pledge to the Tigers. The Destrehan star was previously committed to Michigan, but de-committed last week.

Wright is five-foot-11, 175 pounds and is rated as a three-star prospect.

Wright, who is nick named the flash, has been clocked at 4.32 in the 40-yard dash, and he's expected to also compete on LSU's track team.

Wright is the third verbal pledge for the Tigers in the Class of 2025. The other two are Edna Karr’s TaRon Francis, a four-star who has been committed to LSU since last fall. Derek Meadows, another four-star from Las Vegas, is the other wide out in the 2025 class.

LSU also landed a commitment on Thursday from a four-star safety out of Nashville. CJ Jimcoily is the third defensive back to commit to LSU for the Class of 2025 in the last month. He also considered Alabama, Tennessee and Stanford.

Jimcoily has some size, six-foot-three, 205 pounds. The other two defensive backs in LSU’s 2025 recruiting class are also big, Destrehan’s Jhase Thomas is six-foot-one, 280 pounds and cornerback DJ Pickett is six-foot-4, 180 pounds.

According to on3.com, LSU’s 2025 recruiting class is ranked as the third best in the country behind number one Ohio State and second ranked Alabama.
