Ex-Saints WR Michael Thomas lands 1-game suspension from NFL

Former Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas still hasn't landed with a new team, but he'll have to sit out for at least a week wherever he lands.

Thomas was suspended one game by the NFL relative to an incident with a construction worker prior to Week 10 of last season. Thomas played in the game but suffered a knee injury on the Saints' opening drive and did not return the rest of the season.

Thomas, 31, would still seem to have something to offer to an NFL roster, but has yet to surface on another team.

The Saints have moved on at the WR position and will be looking to Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed and others to take over on a new-look offense led by offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak.

The Saints kick off their 2024 regular season on Sept. 8 against the Carolina Panthers.
