Body found off Napoleon Ave. determined to be homicide victim

New Orleans Police are investigating a homicide that was discovered Saturday morning in Broadmoor.

Police say shortly before 5:30 a.m., officers were sent to investigate a call of a man down on the ground near Napoleon Ave. and S. Dorgenois St.

"Responding officers found the victim on the ground next to a bicycle," said police in a statement.

After New Orleans EMS confirmed the man was dead, the body was handed over to the Orleans Coroner's Office.

"The victim was transported to the Coroner's Office, where it was later determined he was the victim of a homicide," said police.
