This is the time of year we normally see the most tropical activity.

The beginning of September historically sees storm and hurricane formation peak.

    This year, not so much.

The National Hurricane Center says while there are a few areas of disturbed weather across the Atlantic Basin from the Gulf of Mexico to Africa, they all have low chances of development.

The one closest to us is moving toward Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, but has no chance of development in the next couple of days and only a 30 percent shot over the next week as it makes its way into the southern Gulf.

The other two are not threatening any land and have low development chances.
