    Lots of rain to start the week, clear weekend ahead

    The future Tropical Storm Francine is still two days away from making landfall in Louisiana. That storm is expected to bring rain to the area, but even before Francine arrives, we'll see some showers and storms in the New Orleans Metro.

    Rain chances on Monday are set at 30 percent, with most of those showers and storms hanging around the coastal areas. On Tuesday, the inland areas will see more precipitation, with rain chances set at 70 percent. Those showers will remains scattered. High temperatures on both days will be in the low- to mid-80s.

    Wednesday is the day we'll feel Francine's impact. The National Hurricane Center says most of Louisiana has a moderate risk of flash flooding thanks to Francine's heavy rains. Rain will continue through Thursday. Conditions clear in time for the weekend, with partly cloudy skies and warmer conditions expected starting Friday. Temperatures will jump into the mid- to upper-80s on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

    100% chance numerous showers and storms. Some heavy. Windy. Low: S 75, N 71. High: 80.

    THURSDAY:
    60% chance AM numerous showers and storms. Some heavy. Windy. Low: S 74, N 70. High: 84.

    FRIDAY:
    Partly cloudy, a little less humid. Breezy. Low: S 72, N 68. High: 85.

    SATURDAY:
    Partly cloudy, a little less humid. Low: S 72, N 67. High: 86.

    SUNDAY:
    Partly cloudy, 20% chance stray shower/storm. Low: S 74, N 69. High: 87.
