With what was Hurricane Francine dissipating after passing over Louisiana, the worst of the area's flooding should be over. The greater New Orleans area had to deal with a good bit of standing water blocking several major roadways, and the conditions leading up to the tropical storm didn't help things. With much of the ground already saturated from previous heavy rains, it was hard for new rainfall to drain. Scott Walker, Jefferson Parish Councilman at Large, stated "our pump systems were simply overwhelmed. We had a lot of rain in a short amount of time, plus the two weeks of rain before this caused canals to overflow. The last hour made the situation pretty bad in many parts of Jefferson Parish."

There were numerous areas reported in Jefferson Parish as having standing water or being impassable. Walker rattled off a list of problem areas and road closures before warning drivers to stay off the roads and allow the area to drain.

When asked about the status of the infamous Pump Station 6, Walker noted that he hadn't heard any issues with the station and said the pump had ample power. Overall, he was pleased with the performance of the pumps given the soggy conditions leading into Hurricane Francine making landfall.
