Fire spreads to 4 Lower Garden District homes

A four-alarm fire spread to four homes in the 1800-block of Hastings Place near Magazine and Felicity in New Orleans' Lower Garden District.

New Orleans Fire Department says none of the occupants were hurt in the Wednesday afternoon fire, but one firefighter was treated for burns to their left hand.

"All residents had either escaped safely or were not home when NOFD personnel arrived," the department said.

Twenty-five units and 72 firefighters were needed to bring the blaze under control.
