This is the 100th season of Tiger Stadium and the LSU is using the Ole Miss game to commemorate a century of football in Death Valley.

It also happens to be a Top 10 matchup as the Tigers are ranked 10th in the coaches poll, while the Rebels are ranked eighth. It’s the first time the two teams have met in Tiger Stadium ranked in the Top Ten since 1962.

The celebration will include a choreographed LED light show as each fan will receive an LED wristband that will be synced with the lights in Tiger Stadium.

“They’ll be choreographed with the lights, they’ll be choreographed with the band’s halftime show, some of the pregame songs, and various songs through the game,” said LSU Sports Information Director Michael Bonnette.

Of course, one of those songs will be the playing of Callin’ Baton Rouge in between the third and fourth quarters.

If you’ve been lucky enough to see a Taylor Swift or Coldplay concert, you’re familiar with LED wristbands that flash and go along with the beat of the music.

LSU says it will be an in-game experience never seen in Tiger Stadium.

Fans have been asked to wear the wristband that is placed in their seat and are asked not to trade wristbands with fans sitting in other locations of the stadium as it will lessen the impact of the light show.

The wristband light show is choreographed based on sections in the stadium.

Also, part of the celebration is the return of nearly 150 former players, spanning eight decades, including national championship quarterbacks Warren Rabb and Matt Flynn. Rabb and Flynn will serve as guest captains, along with former LSU QB Steve Ensminger, who was also the offensive coordinator of LSU’s 2019 national title team.

LSU will also commemorate 100 years of Tiger Stadium with a special design in the end zone and the players will wear 100 years of Tiger Stadium decals on their helmets.
