The weather right now is cool and fall-like, with low humidity and a nice breeze to compliment the forecast.

However, we are supposed to be unseasonably warm due to La Nina.

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's guidance just released, from September to November, temperatures should be higher than normal and conditions drier.

So, where is La Nina and is she still coming? LSU Climatologist, Barry Keim, says yes it will happen, it just won't make the splash entrance once anticipated.

"We are in a neutral pattern which means there is neither an El Nino or a La Nina."

Keim says one of the positives to the late arrival, is La Nina can cause storm intensification.

"Remember earlier predictions called for a chaotic storm season with twenty or so named storms. Without La Nina, especially on the backend of the season, that's better for us."

So what will Fall and Winter look like for the region?

"We will have a shorter, weaker La Nina that will serve to make things a little warmer than normal and drier arriving more toward the end of October."
