WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The West Springfield Boys & Girls Club is gearing up for its highly anticipated annual fundraiser, “Flutes & Flavors,” set to take place on Friday, September 6th.

The event, to be hosted at the Springfield Country Club, draws hundreds of attendees each year, and will feature an array of gourmet food, beverage tastings, and exciting auction prizes, all in support of the Club’s vital youth programs.

What to know if you plan on traveling for upcoming Labor Day weekend

Sarah Calabrese-Dunphy, the Club’s Resource Development Director, expressed her enthusiasm for this year’s event, stating, “We are so excited to announce the incredible local food and beverage vendors and auction prize donors that are making this fundraiser possible! Flutes & Flavors is a major fundraiser for the Club, attracting 400 guests. This year’s selection of prizes, food, and drinks is among our finest yet!”

The evening will start at 6 p.m., where guests will be treated to culinary samples from 15 local restaurants, including popular dishes like cheeseburger chowder from Celery Stalk and donut holes from Donut Dip. Newcomers to the event, such as Taste of Lebanon and Motu Indian Kitchen, will join a lineup of returning favorites like K’s/Crazy Seafood, Nadim’s, Richard’s Grinders, and The Sugar Chalet.

Complementing the food, six alcohol vendors will offer a variety of drink samples, including local beers from Two Weeks Notice and Skyline Beer Company, classic cocktails from Tito’s, and mini margaritas from Springfield Country Club.

At 8 p.m., the food and vendor stations will close, and guests will move to the porch overlooking the valley for the highlight of the evening—a live auction featuring a range of exclusive items. Among the auction’s offerings are a “Beauty & the Brow” certificate for permanent eyebrows, a Chef’s Tasting for six at bNapoli Italian, weeklong stays at luxurious beach houses in South Chatham and Orleans, and a private dinner for eight at Lattitude Restaurant hosted by Mayor Will Reichelt.

Other unique prizes include a private Taproom Party at Two Weeks Notice, a three-course meal and wine flight from West Side Bar & Grill, and a dinner for 10 at the West Springfield Fire Department.

The silent auction, which will run throughout the evening until 9:30 p.m., features a variety of sought-after prizes such as a foursome at Springfield Country Club, handmade Adirondack chairs, tickets to a performance by The Rock Orchestra, a three-hour set from The Storytellers, hotel stays, a Ryobi power washer, and custom pet portraits.

After the auction closes, guests can pick up their winnings and enjoy live DJ music from Visual Sound Productions until the event concludes at 11 p.m.

Proceeds from Flutes & Flavors will go directly to supporting the West Springfield Boys & Girls Club’s Before & After School programs and “Little Futures” Preschool. The funds raised are particularly crucial for providing financial aid to families in need, ensuring that all children have access to the Club’s programs, regardless of their ability to pay.

Tickets for the event can be purchased online , or in person at the West Springfield Boys & Girls Club, or through any board member.
