Lubavitcher Yeshiva Academy in Longmeadow hosts annual Summer Barbecue

LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) – Lubavitcher Yeshiva Academy in Longmeadow held its annual Summer Barbecue to reunite people together and build excitement for the new upcoming school year.

This event aimed at bringing members of the community who may have been apart during the summer months. It also lets people find out what education programs the LYA offers for kids 15 months to 8th grade and even adults. The rabbi says this event allowed people to foster a strong sense of connection and belonging all while enjoying some food and entertainment.

Rabbi Noach Kosofsky of the Lubavitcher Yeshiva Academy said, “It’s really critical to build a community. In western Massachusetts, unfortunately, we hear about people leaving the area, and on the other hand, when they hear about people moving to the area, it just really is encouraging. It builds pride and it’s exciting for everyone.”

The rabbi hopes this event will encourage more people to join any of the school’s programs and activities. LYA’s school year starts on August 28th.
