    Portion of Route 5 in Holyoke reopened after house fire

    HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – A portion of Route 5 in Holyoke was shut down to traffic as firefighters worked to put out a house fire on Thursday morning.

    Our 22News crew could see firefighters working at a ranch-style home on Route 5 (Northampton Street), not far from the intersection of Reservation Road. Upon arrival, smoke was seen coming from the building and fire crews were able to put out the fire in a bedroom of the home.

    There was one person in the home at the time who was evacuated before the fire department arrive and taken to a hospital for evaluation. No additional injuries were reported.
