WORCESTER, Mass. (WWLP) – Dancing with the Stars announced its first contestant for Season 33, two-time Olympic medalist Stephen Nedoroscik known as “Clark Kent of pommel horse”.

Nedoroscik is a 25-year-old pommel horse specialist from Worcester, Mass. He trained for the France Olympics at EVO Gym in Sarasota, Florida. His performance in Paris earlier this month led Team USA to the bronze medal in men’s gymnastics for the first time since 2008.

He became a social media sensation as fans circulated memes and photos of him on the sidelines with glasses on. Before his routine, Nedoroscik had removed his glasses to perform, social media dubbing him as Clark Kent. In an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon recently, a skit was aired with Nedoroscik entering a phonebooth, like Superman hero Clark Kent, revealing his Olympic medals, before appearing on the show.

On Thursday, Olympic gymnast Nedoroscik announced on the ‘ Dancing with the Stars ‘ social media that he will be joining their new season. “I’m so excited to be joining the new season of Dancing with the Stars. I’m a two-time bronze medalist and now I’m going after that Mirrorball.”

Hosts Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough lead Season 33 with judges Bruno Tonioli, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Derek Hough beginning September 17th on ABC and Disney+! and the next day on Hulu.
