    Holyoke police working to identify suspects after rise in car break-ins

    HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – The Holyoke Police Department is warning residents about an uptick in car break-ins throughout the city.

    According to the Holyoke Police Department, officers and detectives are working to identify the suspects. This serves as a reminder to lock your vehicles, even if they are in your driveway, and remove any valuables from your car.

    Mass.gov provides a list of tips to ensure your vehicle safety:

    • Park in well-lit areas
    • Close and lock all windows and doors when you park
    • Hide valuables out of sight, such as in the glove box or trunk
    • Do not leave your keys in your vehicle
    • Do not leave the area while your vehicle is running
    • Get a good car alarm
    • Add a car-theft tracking device
