SPRINGFIELD, Mass (WWLP) – American International College first-year students from around the world moved in on Friday, but college move-in can be stressful.

Some students only buy a few items and plan to go shopping after they see their dorm, but one student said to plan.

“Don’t do it last minute. Do everything in enough time, get everything ordered and bought, and take your time” said Ethan Grant, a first-year student at AIC from England.

Other students told 22News to only bring what they need. It can be easy to think you need a lot of things from home, but take a minute to think about it, make sure it is a necessity and you need it before packing it in your car and bringing it to college.

The AIC move-in was followed by their traditional “Welcome to the Hive” student sendoff, where current students, staff, and faculty welcome the new first-year students.
