SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – (WWLP) Vice President Kamala Harris closed out the Democratic National Convention on Thursday accepting her nomination for President.

“She literally wants to inviscerate Donald Trump, she doesn’t want a matchup against him like poor Joe Biden had. She wants to definitively just lay him out,” said 22News Political Consultant, Tony Cignoli.

Now just two presidential candidates remain and just 24 hours after Harris accepted her nomination, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced the suspension of his independent presidential campaign.

22News Political Consultant Tony Cignoli shared what this means moving forward, “It’s such a close race, we’re not talking about moving millions of votes to make a difference, but tens of thousands and even less in some of those swing states. Does RFK make a difference there?”

Pennsylvania is one of those states where RFK Jr. could have played into the race.
Harris’ game plan now is expected to get boots on the ground and gain voter support from swing states with new ads set to come at her opponent Donald Trump.

This leads up to Harris and Trump’s first nationally televised debate on Tuesday, September 10.

Vice presidential candidates J.D. Vance and Tim Walz will also take the debate stage on Tuesday, October 1 in New York City.
