Police investigating Saturday morning shooting in Adams

ADAMS, Mass. (WWLP) – Police are investigating a shooting on Mill Street in the town of Adams on Saturday.

According to the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office, the Adams Police Department and a State Police Detective Unit were sent to a shooting at 7 a.m.

22News has learned that two people were involved. One person was shot and is being treated for life-threatening injuries. This incident is still being investigated.

Police have arrested 26-year-old Tyler Bump of North Adams in connection with the shooting.

The charges against him according to Massachusetts General Law are:

• Section 15E – Assault and battery by discharging a firearm
• Section 10(a) – Unlawful possession of a firearm
• Section 12E – Discharging a firearm within 500 feet of dwelling
• Section 18C – Home invasion

Bump is being held on $250,000 bail and will be arraigned in Northern Berkshire District Court on Monday.
