CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – The 22News Storm Team has issued a Weather Alert for the chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms Monday afternoon and evening.

A Flash Flood Warning is in effect until 7:15 p.m. for southwestern Hampden County.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 7 p.m. in western Massachusetts which includes damaging wind gusts up to 65 mph and hail are possible.

Monday is looking partly sunny for the first half of the day and more humid. We’ll have a chance for some afternoon/evening scattered showers and thunderstorms. Some storm clouds become strong to severe with heavy rain, strong gusty winds, and hail, especially east of the Connecticut River. Have an indoor alternative to any outdoor plans ready this afternoon/evening in case of any showers or storms. Highs will be in the lower 80s.

Tuesday is looking like a dry and humid day with a mix of sunshine and clouds and highs in the low to mid-80s.
