    College fund and homeownership on tap for $1M Massachusetts lottery winner

    MALDEN, Mass. (WWLP) – A man from Malden plans to buy a home and create a college fund after his lottery ticket revealed a $1 million prize.

    Massachusetts $2.64M lottery winner played same numbers for over 30 years

    According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Ailton Ferreira bought a $5 “ Bonus 50X ” scratch ticket at Regina’s Market in Everett. On August 23rd, he claimed his prize and chose the one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes).

    He told lottery officials that he plans on purchasing a home and paying for his son’s college education with the winnings. Regina’s will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
