    Police catch suspect stealing items from Westfield, Southwick lawns

    WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A man was arrested on Wednesday in connection with stealing a large amount of items from lawns in Westfield and Southwick.

    Southwick state primary early voting hours extended

    Outdoor items such as lawn ornaments, lawn furniture, and sports equipment kept outside in both Westfield and Southwick have been targeted over the last few months. Police identified the suspect as Christopher Wert and conducted a search warrant on Wednesday at his home on 593 Southwick Road in Westfield.

    Officers recovered multiple stolen items including four previously reported and two unreported larcenies in Westfield, and two previously reported larcenies in Southwick. Additional items were also seized that are believed to be stolen.

    Wert was arrested at his home on larceny charges related to the cases in Westfield. He is being held on $5,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned at Westfield District Court on Wednesday.
