    UMass Amherst Ranked No. 1 for best dining program for 8th year in a row

    AMHERST, Mass. (WWLP)- UMass Amherst has earned the top spot for Best Campus Food by the Princeton Review.

    The dining hall is ranked America’s best food among colleges and universities.

    UMass Amherst has topped Princeton review’s list of best campus food for the 8th year in a row. 50,000 meals are served daily across four dining halls. Produce is also delivered every day to the university’s cooks to ensure every meal is top-notch.

    “We celebrate the ethnicity of our staff who are from all over the world so we say cook what you know best”, Alexander Ong, Director of Culinary Excellence at UMass Amherst.

    “We’ve been honored for the eight time in a row to be the number one dining hall in the country in terms of authentic cuisine that’s what students are really eating so we have everything from sushi we serve over four thousand sushi rolls every single day stir fry Mediterranean cuisine, middle eastern cuisine we have cuisine from all over the world”, Garett Distefano, Director of Dining at UMass Amherst.

    The dining program is also open to the community daily from seven in the morning to midnight.
    One of the four dining halls is Worcester Commons which features a full bar and restaurant upstairs. This Halloween the university is planning to host ‘All Treats No Tricks’ once again.
    It’s where 15-thousand lobsters will be delivered fresh and served to celebrate.
