Senator Oliveira presents $75,000 check to Forest Park Zoo

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – State senator Jake Oliveira stopped in Springfield Thursday to present a $75,000 check to the Forest Park Zoo.

This check will support the centers’ workforce, economic development, travel, tourism, and wildlife conservation.

The nonprofit holds 225 animals, including chickens, parrots, and foxes who made a special appearance at the presentation. Senator Oliveira told 22News, “This is a great place for multi-generational families can go and enjoy a fun, and safe afternoon.”

Forest Park Zoo has been open for decades. They also host events for all ages, like the Brew in the Zoo, Wine Safari, and multiple education programs.
