SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – After months of negotiation between PVTA bus drivers, mechanics and DGR Management Inc., the union has reached a tentative agreement.

The strike originally was set to take place Sunday morning, but the union representing local PVTA bus drivers and mechanics announced it was called off.

Earlier this year, the union proposed an 18% wage increase over a three year contract. Though just last week DGR Management offered the union a one year contract and would return to negotiations for year two and three. The offer presented included a 5% wage increase, with top bus operators earning $32.81 an hour.

It is unclear as to what kind of tentative agreement they have reached, but members of the union are set to vote on it Tuesday.
