SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Its the last day of Springfield’s 35th annual Stone Soul Festival.

Springfield Police remember Officer Adelbert St. Marie

This is New England’s largest African American festival and it first began in 1989 as a community reunion picnic to bring the Mason Square community together. It serves as a platform for showcasing talented artists, musicians, and entrepreneurs.

There will be music, food, local artists displaying their work, and activities to enjoy at Blunt Park on Sunday. A praise in the park will take place at 10:00 a.m., along with a free fish fry at noon, a gospel concert at 2:00 p.m. and more to follow.

This festival also reunites former residents who come back over Labor Day weekend to renew friendships.
