SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – EMTs are the ones that respond to all medical emergencies. Their job is to provide quick and efficient care to those who are injured or even sick.

This was something that Talia Goode who is originally from Jamaica saw herself doing for a long time. She not only graduated from this program but she also received her citizenship throughout her time in the program.

Goode says this was a stepping stone for her as her goal is to go to medical school and then become a doctor. She explains what this day means to her.

“Oh my gosh, it is so exhilarating I am excited to get out there on the streets. Nervous but excited. This has been a wonderful three months. I can’t thank AMR and the Earn While You Learn program enough. It was a big part of my life, it was for the better good.”

AMR’s Earn While You Learn program was first launched in 2019 and it’s designed to make an easier transition for those who want to become EMT professionals or pursue a career in the medical field.

Now that these student completed the course and their received their state certification they will all be promoted to EMT-B with a pay increase.
