CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – MassDOT has been awarded $171 million in funding from the Federal Highway Administration, which will go towards some western Massachusetts road projects.

Both Agawam and Pittsfield will get new road improvements thanks to this funding. In Pittsfield, the money will be used for the reconstruction of East Street, and in Agawam, there will be road safety improvements near Robinson Park Elementary School.

All of this money is collected from programs in various states that didn’t get to use the funds.

Our roads in Pittsfield are so full of potholes. Some roads have been redone but there are still a lot that need fixing before Winter 🙁

We need the 2 dilapidated bridges replaced ASAP in Beverly. Not in the 13 years you told us, that’s a disgrace and a slap in the face to our city.
