    Busy weekend of fairs, festivals in western Massachusetts

    SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – This year’s fair and festival season continues with several events happening around western Massachusetts this weekend.

    New Fright Fest attraction ‘Camp Killamore’ debuts for 2024

    Friday marks the second day of the four-day-long Franklin County fair. The fair is one of the largest in western Mass., and features live performances, food, rides, agricultural competitions, and more.

    Friday evening, St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral begins its three-day long celebration of Glendi, celebrating Greek culture and community in Springfield, with food, traditional Greek dancing, and vendors.

    Then Saturday, Springfield’s Mattoon Arts Festival begins. All weekend, artists, crafters, and food vendors will line Mattoon Street for the longest-running arts festival in the Pioneer Valley.

    The second annual Latino Arts Festival begins at the Springfield Museums Friday evening, festival events are free and open to the public. This festival leads into National Hispanic Heritage Month by celebrating the myriad arts and rich cultures of the Latino population here in Springfield.

    It is also officially one week away from the much anticipated Big E from September 13th to the 29th people can enjoy top-name artists, vendors, local agriculture, and those iconic fair foods.

    Rocky’s Ace Hardware is selling discounted tickets at 13 locations across the region.
