CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – It was a party with a purpose.

Train for Life partnered with Shriners Children’s New England to host the first annual community block party.

“When we have fundraisers such as this, they help to benefit our patient care funds, which then results in being able to fulfill our mission and take care of the children across New England and Upstate New York,” shared Keri Tichy, Director of Philanthropy, Shriners Children’s New England.

100% of the proceeds from Sunday’s event will go towards Shriners Children’s New England, which is committed to improving a child’s life no matter what their financial situation may be.

“At our location, we treat over 21,000 patients from across New England and Upstate New York with neuromuscular conditions, eurology, cleft lip and palate, sports injuries, and fracture care,” said Keri Tichy, Director of Philanthropy, Shriners Children’s New England.

The block party also invited the community to shop and get a bite to eat from local businesses.

“It’s going to proceeds, it’s going to help children, it’s just an amazing way to get in the community, put yourself out there, and support other local businesses,” shared Jessical Merril, Arbonne.

For those unable to attend Sunday’s block party, Shriners Children’s New England will host a charity event on October 25th, Cheers for Children. If you’d like to attend or get involved, visit here: https://lovetotherescue.org/events/cheers-for-children e.
