‘Be Kind to Your Mind’ Kayla Leblanc Memorial Golf Tournament held in Agawam

AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP) – The first-ever memorial golf tournament in honor of Kayla Leblanc took place in Agawam on Sunday.

Over 150 golfers gathered at Oak Ridge Country Club to bring awareness to suicide prevention. Around 300 people also attended a dinner with raffles and prizes to raise awareness for mental health. Leblanc’s family came together with a special message, be kind to your mind and check in with your loved ones.

It’s special because she was special and this big crowd here is all the people that loved her and that shows how amazing she was as a person, the fact that she felt in that moment and didn’t reach out to anybody we want people to know that there are people that care and you should reach out,” said Kelly Leblanc, Kayla Leblanc’s mother.

Some of the proceeds raised will be donated to the National Alliance for Mental Illness and create scholarships for Pope Francis. If you or someone you know is struggling, call the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline for 24-hour help at 9-8-8.
