SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP)– Several local non-profits under the umbrella of the United Way of Pioneer Valley (UWPV) need volunteers for different types of projects.

Originally known as Day of Caring, the organization has changed the program to Days of Caring as a way to connect volunteers to projects in need year-round. It is an opportunity for individuals, businesses, school groups and community organizations to participate in community service work that supports nonprofits with much-needed improvements from landscaping to painting to cleaning.

Currently, there are projects planned for the next few months at  Project New Hope, Stanley Park, Camp Moses, Square One, Camp Shepard, Ronald McDonald House, The City of Holyoke, Chicopee and Springfield, Community Survival Center, Boys & Girls Club of Ludlow, and United Way of Pioneer Valley.

Individuals or groups can learn more about the projects and sign up on the UWPV website.
