WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Big E is four days away.

Local businesses in West Springfield are preparing for the rush.

Co-owner of Mamma Mia’s Pizzeria & Trattoria in West Springfield says, “We definitely have a lot more foot traffic coming with The Big E. We’d be happy to have new customers, we have a nice dining area. People can stop in for cold beer or wine and get a slice of Pizza.”

Down the road, Richard’s Grinders plans to close its location near Gate 9 while The Big E is open.

However, people are encouraged to stop at their Westfield location and try one of their giant grinders like the Boston Special, Steak & Cheese, or Super Deluxe Cold Cut.

Local business owners and workers are encouraging people to check out the restaurants and shops in the area while they’re in town for The Big E, to keep business booming.
