Palmer fright park named one of America’s scariest haunted houses for 2024

PALMER, Mass. (WWLP) – Scary Overload has ranked 13th World Fright Park in Palmer, as one of the top haunted houses in the country for 2024.

The popular New England attraction secured the No. 8 spot on the list, gaining recognition for its terrifying combination of indoor and outdoor haunts that deliver heart-pounding scares.

Scary Overload, a leading online source for all things horror, described 13th World as a “must-see for the Halloween season,” praising its mile-long trail filled with immersive sets and creative frights. “New England doesn’t mess around when it comes to horror,” the Scary Overload editors wrote. They highlighted the park’s unique mix of traditional haunted house elements and innovative, fear-inducing experiences.

Rich Vaillant, co-founder of 13th World Fright Park, expressed gratitude for the recognition, “Every year, we strive to innovate and add something new to enhance our customers’ experience. It’s an honor to be named one of the scariest haunted houses in America and to be recognized alongside other top haunts across the country.”

The 2024 season at 13th World kicks off on Saturday, September 28, with several spine-chilling attractions, including Moonlight Mayhem , which takes guests through a series of nightmares starting at the Moonlight Motel, and the Hell Fire House , a twisted maze of fog and fire. Guests can also brave the Prison of Torture , where some of the most terrifying fears are brought to life.

Several special events are planned throughout the season, including a Friday the 13th sneak peek event on September 13, two blackout weekends where visitors experience the park in total darkness, and Xscream Night on November 1, an R-rated event for guests 18 and older.
